Mamata Banerjee’s dream Scheme Ananddhara was launched under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, which is creating self-help groups to train poor women in every rural area.
These groups have encouraged women to engage in various self-help activities through bank contact and vocational training.

Launched by Mamata Banerjee, the Scheme is aimed at ensuring the inclusion of self-help groups of poor women in West Bengal.

After a decade of implementation of the Scheme, various surveys commissioned by the government showed some weaknesses in the Scheme and the Scheme did not yield the expected results.
In West Bengal, this Scheme has been launched under the name Anandadhara. The main objective of the Scheme is to reduce the poverty of women from poor families in rural areas by organizing them and increasing their capacity and skills and increasing their income in a sustainable manner through recruitment and wage-based employment.
In collaboration/coordination with various government departments (MGNREGS, Health, ICDS, Food, Education, Tourism, Fisheries, Animal Resource Development), women’s groups and association members continue to participate in various livelihoods.
The main features of the Scheme are universal social integration, organization of the poor, capacity building and capacity building of the poor, universal financial inclusion, livelihood development, production and marketing infrastructure, and Scheme support at various levels.
Purpose of Anandadhara Scheme?
The Government of India’s National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) has enabled society to come out of poverty. On 16 May 2012, Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee launched the Anandadhara Prakalpa as the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM).
To provide shelter to the rural poor and marginalized people in self-regulated organizations and to help them in earning a living. The main goal of this Prakalpa is to make the development indicators more accessible to the poor.
However, through this Scheme, the state government wanted every poor woman in the state to be self-reliant. From this point of view, two special objectives of this Scheme were observed.
The first objective of the Scheme is to eradicate poverty from the state. The objective of the Scheme is to ensure that poor girls can stand tall by providing bank loans and vocational training. On the other hand, the objective of the Scheme is to eliminate gender inequality in the state through Scheme.
Benefits of the Anandadhara Scheme?
Under this Scheme, poor women are able to become self-reliant with the help of self-help groups. In various fields, women’s groups are participating in various livelihoods.

1. Apart from this, a bank loan facility will also be available under this Scheme. In fact, one of the objectives of the Scheme is to make the girls self-reliant through micro-loans through the Apply Scheme to connect the backward girls and poor.
2. Besides, training is being imparted to poor girls under this Scheme. Vocational training is being imparted along with providing information on various business subjects. In this way, girls are able to choose their profession.

Every poor woman in the state of West Bengal will be able to avail the benefits of the Anandadhara Scheme. However, it is important to note that before availing of the benefits of this Scheme, they have to be included in the self-help group.

Self-help group and it’s working methods
A self-help group is an organization where the poor women of the state form a group among themselves but the activities of the group are managed through sub-association and association. Sub association is an organization made up of women. Its members are basically elected from among the women.
It helps to manage the activities of all the dependent groups separately from any other organization. The other is the work of the association. Basically, how many sub-association are brought together under the association.
In order to build a self-reliant group, first, the local women have to meet. The financial issues of the meeting have to be discussed and funds have to be formed. The meeting should be held for six months and the contents of the financial discussion should be recorded in the book.
Then it should be submitted to the block officer. Then a test called Grade-1 will be held. If the test is passed, the state government will provide the same amount of funds collected to the organization.
After being included in the self-help group, various activities have to be done. For example, one has to actively participate in various development activities in the village. You have to make sure that the poor people of the village are getting proper help from the government.
You have to see if the young children of the village are getting the opportunity to study. By including poor girls in self-help groups, they need to be helped to acquire skills in handicrafts. Above all, they need to find out the problems of the village and report to the panchayat and have a meeting with the panchayat.
