Digital Health ID Card: The government of India has introduced Digital Health ID Card like Aadhaar Card. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced the mission. According to the central government, under the National Digital Health Mission, the people will be given a 14-digit Health Identification Number.

Through this, the central government will keep the medical records of all the people in one place. This National Digital Health Mission has been launched keeping in mind the health of the people.

What is Digital Health Card?

A digital health ID card is a card that contains the health information of the citizens. It is a part of the mission of Ayushman Yojana. The Prime Minister said that this digital card will contain all the information related to the health of everyone.

In other words, this card will contain all the information about what physical problems he has, when he went to the doctor, what physical tests he has done, what medicines the doctor has told him to take.

It has been informed that there will be no cost to register the name on the health card of the center. The Center said that if the information of the citizens is recorded, it will be convenient for the states to allocate funds in the health sector according to that information.

Benefits of the Digital Health Card

1. All health-related information will be in one place in digital format through a digital health card. This will create a medical history of the person concerned. If the health card user goes for treatment in any public or private place in the future, the doctor will move all the information digitally in one place.

You can even get treatment in any state through a digital health card. It is believed that the medical system will be easier. There is no need for the patient to move from one hospital to another with the file.

2. This work will be fully official. All patient information is expected to be protected here. Fraud often occurs in government schemes. And in that case, digital health cards are considered to be much more secure.

Medical subsidies can also be obtained through this. So far, more than 20 million people have received free medical treatment through the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

This facility could be availed through an Ayushman card. However, in this case, the digital health card is expected to be more secure from now on.

How health records are created?

In the first step, a health ID will be created after which health-related information will be taken from an individual. This information will be attached to the health ID, after obtaining the consent of that person.

According to the NDHM’s website, information known as the ‘Personal Health Record-System (PHR)’ will enable an individual to manage information about his or her healthcare.

This includes viewing a longitudinal record, summarizing all health information, lab reports, treatment details, discharge across one or more health facilities

How to apply online for a digital health card?

An application called NDHM Health Records has been launched in the Google Play Store for this purpose. In order to make a health card, you have to register with the help of that app.

And this way every user will get a Unique Digital Health ID. However, even if someone does not have a smartphone can get this benefit. To register for health ID cards, government, private hospitals, health centers, wellness centers, and various camp offices will be opened by the government.

Step 4:

If you want to use your own Aadhaar card to make a digital health card, you have to click on the first option.

Step 5:

After that, you have to submit your 12 digit Aadhaar number and complete the process by following the rules given on the screen.

How the card will work?

The scheme consists of four essential parts. These are Unique Digital Health ID, Healthcare Professional Registry, Health Facilities Registry, and Electronic Health Record.

The first objective of this scheme is to create a digital environment for healthcare through these four blocks. At a later stage, the government plans to integrate telemedicine and e-pharmacy.

According to the government, a unique health ID is important for standardizing the process of identifying an individual among healthcare providers.
