Self Help Group and Self Employment Department:

Skills graduation, testing, and vocational training are provided for effective development through self-help groups and self-employment projects. State-level and district-level Sabala Mela (West Bengal Sabala Mela) is organized to open up the marketing opportunities of self-reliant employment.
In addition, a project called “Muktidhara Scheme” has been launched to alleviate the poverty of the members of the self-reliant groups and maintain the standard of living and improve the standard of living.

Mamata Banerjee’s government has taken various programs or projects to make men and women financially self-sufficient in rural areas. Providing bicycles to school children is a complete success. Earlier, the women involved in the self-employment scheme have been sent to collect paddy.
Shopping malls have also been set up for them on the opposite shore. Two and a half lakh members of the self-help group have been trained in collaboration with the Department of Technical Education. After the training, they are being given employment opportunities.

Self-help group to make cheap napkins from self-reliance:
The state government has launched a project to make cheap sanitary napkins (West Bengal Sanitary Napkins Making Scheme) for rural women in remote areas of Purulia and this work will be done by women in remote villages of Purulia.
As well as employment, rural women will be able to get safe sanitary napkins at extremely low prices. The women of our country still lag far behind the women of developed countries in the use of sanitary napkins. So Jaipur Cooperative and Agricultural Development Association came forward to make women aware of the use of napkins.
It may be mentioned here that a few days ago, the project of distributing cheaply subsidized sanitary napkins to girls through Asha workers was started in every area of the state at the initiative of the health department of the state government.
The project also includes plans to include students enrolled in the state government’s Kanyashree Scheme (West Bengal Kanyashree Scheme) in the future. In addition, the state government has introduced a subsidy scheme of up to 9 percent on bank loans taken from self-help groups. It will be deposited directly in the bank account of the self-help group.
The department plays a pioneering role in creating self-reliant, employment opportunities for the youth, including backward class members, minorities, and women. Unemployed youths have the opportunity to start individual or group enterprises, including bank finance, to meet certain criteria.
Eligibility to join this project:
The age limit should be 18 Any unemployed youth between the ages of 18 to 45 years with a family income of less than Rs. 15,000 up to a maximum of Rs. Up to a maximum of Rs. 25 lakhs may be sanctioned for the project.
