Self-Help Group and Self-Employment Department:

Self-help group to make cheap napkins from self-reliance:
The state government has launched a project to make cheap sanitary napkins (West Bengal Sanitary Napkins Making Scheme) for rural women in remote areas of Purulia and this work will be done by women in remote villages of Purulia.
As well as employment, rural women will be able to get safe sanitary napkins at extremely low prices. The women of our country still lag far behind the women of developed countries in the use of sanitary napkins. So Jaipur Cooperative and Agricultural Development Association came forward to make women aware of the use of napkins.
It may be mentioned here that a few days ago, the project of distributing cheaply subsidized sanitary napkins to girls through Asha workers was started in every area of the state at the initiative of the health department of the state government.
The project also includes plans to include students enrolled in the state government’s Kanyashree Scheme (West Bengal Kanyashree Scheme) in the future. In addition, the state government has introduced a subsidy scheme of up to 9 percent on bank loans taken from self-help groups.
It will be deposited directly into the bank account of the self-help group. The department plays a pioneering role in creating self-reliant, employment opportunities for the youth, including backward class members, minorities, and women. The age limit should be 18 Any unemployed youth between the ages of 18 to 45 years with a family income of less than Rs. 15,000 up to a maximum of Rs. Up to a maximum of Rs. 25 lakhs may be sanctioned for the project.
