The group protection scheme has been launched as a result of active consideration by the state government to provide health protection to the residents to save them from catastrophic expenses due to hospitalization.
The target population of the Swasthya Sathi Scheme is the diverse low-income earners and volunteers involved in various projects run by different departments of the State Government which are being approved by the Finance Department from time to time.

The main feature of the health care project is Each family will get Rs 5 lakh for basic health cover, and secondary and tertiary care.
Up to Rs. 1.5 lakh will be available through Insurance mode and from Rs 1.5 lakh through Assurance mode. The project was launched on 01.02.2018.
