The ‘Aadhaar Services on SMS’ facility is very helpful for those who do not have an internet facility or who can not use the UIDAI website and m-Aadhaar app. Through ‘Aadhaar Services on SMS’, Aadhar cardholders can use virtual ID generation/retrieval, Aadhaar lock / unlock, biometric lock / unlock, etc. through SMS.
For this, your mobile number should be linked with the register ie Aadhaar in UIDAI. SMS will be sent to 1947.

Virtual ID Generation / Retrieval
Send the last four digits of GVID <SPACE> Aadhaar number in SMS to 1947. For example, if someone’s base number is 1234-5678-9123, then GVID 9123 has to be sent.
After this, a 16-digit virtual ID will come on your mobile. If the virtual ID is lost, it can be retrieved by SMS once again. For this, users have to send the last four digits of the RVID <SPACE> Aadhaar number to 1947.
For Aadhaar lock
Two SMS have to be sent to lock the Aadhaar number. The first SMS must be sent to receive OTP. For this, GETOTP <SPACE> will have to write the last four digits of the Aadhaar number and send it to 1947. After this, UIDAI will send users a 6 number OTP.
After this, another SMS will have to be sent. This time, the last four digits of the LOCKUID <SPACE> Aadhaar number has to be written to the 6 digit OTP and sent to 1947.
Note: -Remember that to lock the Aadhaar number first a virtual ID has to be generated.
LOCKUID <SPACE> Last 8 digits of Aadhaar number <SPACE> 6 digit OTP
For Aadhaar Unlock
For this, 2 messages have to be sent.
First 6 digits of the first GETOTP <SPACE> virtual ID. Second UNLOCKUID <SPACE> The last 6 digits of the virtual ID <SPACE> 6 digit OTP.
If multiple Aadhaar numbers are linked to the same mobile number and the last 6 digits of the two virtual IDs are the same, then in these two cases the second message will be sent like this ..
UNLOCKUID <SPACE> Last 10 digits of virtual ID <SPACE> 6 digit OTP
Biometric locking
Two messages have to be done for this also. If using the Aadhaar number, first GETOTP <SPACE> will have to send the last 4 digits of the Aadhaar number and later ENABLEBIOLOCK <SPACE> the last 4 digits of Aadhaar number <SPACE> 6 digit OTP and send it to 1947.
If you want to use virtual ID, first GETOTP <SPACE> will have to send the last 6 digits of the virtual ID and later ENABLEBIOLOCK <SPACE> by writing the last 6 digits of the virtual ID <SPACE> 6 digit OTP.
Note: – If Aadhaar is already locked then this service will not work.
ENABLEBIOLOCK <SPACE> Last 8 digits of Aadhaar number <SPACE> 6 digit OTP
ENABLEBIOLOCK <SPACE> Last 10 digits of virtual ID <SPACE> 6 digit OTP
Biometric unlock removal
For this, two messages have to be sent. If using the Aadhaar number, first GETOTP <SPACE> will have to send the last 4 digits of the Aadhaar number and later DISABLEBIOLOCK <SPACE> the last 4 digits of the Aadhaar number <SPACE> by writing 6 digit OTP to 1947.
If using virtual ID, first GETOTP <SPACE> will have to send the last 6 digits of the virtual ID and later DISABLEBIOLOCK <SPACE> by writing the last 6 digits of the virtual ID <SPACE> 6 digit OTP.
DISABLEBIOLOCK <SPACE> Last 8 digits of Aadhaar number <SPACE> 6 digit OTP

Temporary removal of biometric unlock
In case of using the Aadhaar number, first GETOTP <SPACE> will have to send the last 4 digits of the Aadhaar number and later UNLOCKBIO <SPACE> the last 4 digits of the Aadhaar number <SPACE> by writing 6 digits OTP to 1947.
Using the virtual ID, first GETOTP <SPACE> will have to send the last 6 digits of the virtual ID and then UNLOCKBIO <SPACE> the last 6 digits of the virtual ID <SPACE> by writing 6-digit OTP.
If multiple Aadhaar numbers are linked to the same mobile number and the last 6 digits of the two virtual IDs or the last 4 digits of the two Aadhaar numbers are the same, then in these two cases the second message will be sent like this.
